Celebrating Black History Month – Aviation Pioneers

Black History Month (also known as African American American History Month) dates back to 1915 when historian Carter G. Woodson, son of former slaves, and Minister Jesse E. Moorland founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH).

The ASNLH focused on recognizing the accomplishments of Black Americans and those of African lineage.⁣ ⁣ Today, it’s known as the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH).

As founders of National Black History Month, their mission is to “create and disseminate knowledge about Black History.”⁣

Join us as we celebrate Black History Month and honor the achievements of Black Americans in aviation. 🇺🇸
